Bramble Bump: Where Story, Soil, and Spirit Converge

Nestled among evergreens in the heart of Woodinville wine country, Bramble Bump is more than a destination — it’s a sanctuary. A place where nature and craft coexist in quiet harmony. It’s here that JM Cellars has made its home — and where Hazel29 began a creative journey to capture a story rooted not just in wine, but in place and people.
As a production company, we’ve filmed all over the world. But Bramble Bump is one of those rare locations that speaks even when the cameras stop rolling. It’s not just the mossy trails, the 7-acre arboretum, or the wind rustling through old-growth trees — it’s the intention that lives in every detail.
The Heart of the Hill: A Conversation with John Bigelow
Winemakers John and Peggy Bigelow have created something deeply personal — a retreat where wine, people, and land are in conversation. Each bottle of JM Cellars wine carries not just the essence of the Columbia Valley, but the soul of this hillside sanctuary.
We had the pleasure of sitting down with John one golden afternoon at Bramble Bump. A glass of chilled Cinsault white in hand, he reflected on the deeper connection between the wine and the land:
“Everything we do here is grounded in a sense of place. This land means something — to us, to the people who visit, and to the wine itself. It’s where story, soil, and spirit meet.”

Behind the Scenes. One of our favorite moments? Watching John linger beside the ivy-framed, copper cellar doors — iconic, weathered, and glowing in the afternoon sun. It’s a moment we’ll carry with us long after we’ve packed up the gear.
“This place gives the wine its voice.” — John Bigelow
What We’ve Loved About Bramble Bump
Golden Light Through the Trees. A cinematographer’s dream. Every frame a painting.
Authentic Conversations. Something about this space invites honesty, presence, and openness.
That “Pacific Northwest Soul.” It’s in the soil, in the stillness, and in every glass poured.
An Invitation to Experience It Yourself
If you haven’t visited Bramble Bump yet, consider this your invitation.
Join the JM Cellars wine club. Wander the trails. Savor the stillness. Taste the story in every sip. Because some places aren’t just locations — they’re living stories. And this one is still being written.
